About Me

My family has been calling the Santa Ynez Valley home for almost a century now. My great grandparents farmed Drum Canyon before vineyards were even considered in the area, my grandmother rode the horse drawn carriage to the Buellton schoolhouse as a child, and my family performed many Portuguese chamarritas at local dances throughout the years in Lompoc and Santa Maria.

Born and raised in Orcutt and a graduate of St. Joseph High School, I had the privilege of attending UC Santa Barbara and then work at my alma mater where I met my now husband Jason. In 2019, we were able to buy a home in Buellton and put our roots down in this amazing place.

In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, we had the unfortunate diagnosis of Jason’s cancer but it was our community who rallied around us and got us through that extremely tough time. Thankfully Jason has been in remission since 2021 and I thought it was time to give back to the community who had given us so much. In 2022 I was elected to Buellton City Council and it has been a joy to serve our town and the people who make it so special.

During my time on council, I have met people who have told me stories about my own family members no longer with us that has allowed me the chance to get to know loved-ones from my past in a way I didn’t know possible. The Santa Ynez Valley is so special to me because it has allowed me to connect with the past while investing in our future together. To be able to give back to a community that has been the bedrock of my family for generations is something I am honored to have the opportunity to do.
